Problem hotels pairwork (some and any)

Student A
Your partner is someone who is looking for a hotel for their honeymoon and has phoned your hotel to find out about it. Answer questions from your partner about your hotel and tick any of the things on the list below that they find out. Only tick off the problem when they have found out exactly the problem there, including how many. If they ask about something that is not written there, you can make up any answer you like, preferably something good.

There aren’t any towels
There isn’t any glass in the windows
There are lots of cockroaches
There are only a few towels
There is only one toilet in the hotel
There isn’t much hot water
There aren’t any lifts and there are lots of stairs
There are a few stains on the bedroom wall
There are lots of leaks in the roof
There aren’t any car parking spaces.

Continue with your own ideas for problems (write them down)

Decide which the worst hotel is

Rank the problems- decide which the 10 most serious and the ten least serious problems are

Decide the 10 most important factors of a good hotel

Negotiate- Student A is a husband who wants to save money and Student B is a wife who wants to splash out. Decide together what kind of hotel you are going to go to for your honeymoon.

Take turns complaining about the bad things above and giving excuses etc.
