I Will Survive Past present and future tenses

I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor
A: Read the song (ignoring the gaps) and put these into the correct order:
She finds him sitting in her house
He leaves her
She becomes strong and stops being sad
She doesn’t change the locks on her doors
She is very sad and scared
She tells him to go away and never come back
She cries
She survives

At first I ______ (be) afraid, I was petrified
Kept _______ (think) I could never _______ (live) without you by my side
But then I ______ (spend) so many nights thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong- And I learned how to get along

And so you ______ (be) back, from outer space
I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed that stupid lock, I should have made you leave your key
If I’d have known for just one second you’d be back to bother me

Go on now, go- walk out the door
Just ______ (turn) around now, cos you ______ (be) not welcome anymore
Weren’t you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye?
Did you think I’d crumble? Did you think I’d lay down and die?

Oh no, not I
I will survive
Oh as long as I know how to love
I know I _________ (stay) alive
I _________ (have got) got all my life to live
I __________ (have got) all my love to give
And I’ll survive
I will survive

It took all the strength I _________ (have) not to fall apart
Kept trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart
And I spent oh so many nights feeling sorry for myself
I ____________ (cry), but now I ___________ (hold) my head up high

And you see me, somebody new
I_________ (be) not that chained up little person still in love with you
And so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free
But now I ___________ (save) all my loving for someone who’s loving me

B: Put the verbs into the correct tense (careful with word order in questions!)
