Note for teachers

With good groups you could blank out the verbs to give them more practice of producing passives. As an extension with more practice of the grammar, ask them to brainstorm true passive sentences about one of the countries (either ones they can remember from the worksheet or their own idea).

    I love this game idea but had to cringe at the “Columbia” clues. It’s “Colombia,” and cocaine smuggling is such a stereotype. There is so much more to this beautiful country.

    I was already planning on removing, adding, and creating my own clues (just using this blog as a starting point) which is a good thing because there’s no way I could present these clues for Colombia to my 300 Colombian students.

    My hope is that all teachers adapt my worksheets, because they are made specifically for my classes and even I change them all the time. I’m sure there are plenty of similar terrible cliches about other countries which people who work there will have to change too! The spelling is just an unforgiveable mistake, though – will fix that asap.
