First conditional and countable/ uncountable sentence completion activities

Time to Talk Orange Units 17 and 19

Use the sentences below in the way that your teacher tells you to:

  • Find related things in common with each other by making sentences which are true for both/ all of you
  • Make a sentence and see if your partner can work out if it is true or not
  • Complete one sentence, say just the bit that you added, and see if your partner can guess which sentence it is

First conditional and countable/ uncountable error correction

Without looking above, find and correct one mistake in each sentence below.

If my mother asks me to do some houseworks, I’ll volunteer to do the ironing. X

If there are lots of dirty laundry when I get home, I won’t do it until tomorrow. X

If there is lots of dirty dishes when I get home, I’ll complain to the person who left it there. X

If I have no moneys before the end of this month, I’ll eat instant noodles every day. X

If I feel like eating a fruit tomorrow morning, I’ll eat some raisins. X

If there aren’t any egg in the fridge when I get home, I’ll go to the convenience store. X

If the price of butter will go up, I’ll start to use margarine. X

Hint: There are mistakes with countable/ uncountable, and then mistakes with first conditional.
