There is/ are and like hangman guessing game
Choose something that is in your house, bag, bedroom, desk, etc that shows something about your likes, e.g. some boots that you have because you love hiking. If you can’t think of something positive, think of something that you don’t have because of a dislike, e.g. butter, which you don’t have because you dislike fatty food. Write a sentence about that thing using one of the two patterns below, leaving blanks instead of the things that you (don’t) have and (don’t) like, e.g. “There is/ are one/ two/ some/ many __ __ __ __ __ in my lobby because I like __ __ __ __ __ __” or “I don’t like __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __, so there aren’t (m)any __ __ __ __ __ __ in my kitchen”. Your partner will try to guess either a letter or a whole word. If they are correct, write that in each suitable gap. If they are wrong, write one correct letter in each suitable gap and/ or give them a hint, and give yourself one point. When they have guessed the whole thing, switch and do the same with their gapped sentence. Continue doing the same with more sentences until your teacher stops the game. The person with most points (because of most wrong guesses by their partner) wins the game.
