Instructions for teachers
Cut up one set of cards per group of two to four students. Ask students to deal the cards out. One student chooses one of their cards and places it face down in the middle of the table. That person then secretly flips a coin. If they get heads they should try to get an answer with “Yes” and the word on the table, e.g. asking a partner “Does your mother like strawberries?” to get the answer “Yes, she does” if they placed the word “she” on the table. If they get tails, they should try to get a negative answer with the word on the table, e.g. asking “Do you have a motorbike?” to get the answer “No, I don’t” if the card says “do”. After the other student answers the question (truthfully), they reveal the card and which side of the coin was up. They then get one point if they got that answer.
