Step up the pressure roleplays (TEFLtastic classics Part Five)

Not quite a game, but a lot more fun and useful than it sounds.

Students do a short and easy roleplay, then the next roleplay card asks them to do basically the same thing with a tiny extension and/ or twist. The next stage has a further lengthening and/ or difficulty, and so on until they give up or the teacher runs out of ideas. Great for:

– Mixed level classes

– Both revision and extension

– Linking two language points together

– Enough repetition without getting boring

Here are the ones I’ve come up with so far:

Dealing with problems and complaints step by step roleplays – NEW

More and more difficult telephoning roleplays and useful phrases

Telephoning step by step roleplays

Dealing with Enquiries Step by Step roleplays

Dealing with Complaints Step by Step Roleplay Practice

Should that meet with your approval, you may also like the taste of last year’s TEFLtasticest idea, which was Tips and Useful Phrases. Click on the TEFLtastic Classics tag below to find that and others.
